Almost a year has passed since the handmade wooden furniture and home accessories brand OURHOOD opened up its own place in the heart of Sofia. Starting out as a furniture showroom, the space has imperceptibly transformed into a home for creativity, says Yanа Stoeva,
who is the driving force and soul behind it. Here, home is indeed a word that gets its due, but there is also a lot more going on.
"It is our strong belief that unity is strength and collaboration is a major part of our philosophy," Yana adds and tells us how this has brought them new experiences and inspiration. That is how, for example, they went to a rose harvest and organized a bohemian dinner in the fabulous rose gardens in the village of Sredno Gradishte, or the themed brunches, in which "luxuriously and stylishly decorated, the table in the showroom turns into a small bohemian island, whose treasure is the guests and their good cheer," which looks like it will become one of their traditions.
Yana is also planning changes that will stir up the interior of OURHOOD Home by reshuffling, changing products, introducing new designers. "But in general, the style will still lean in the direction of organic, sustainable interior, with a focus on Bulgarian producers." For her, coziness is something very personal for which there is no formula, "it is created by the soul and if you carry it within yourself, it takes very little to find it in many different places.”
If you want to take home a cozy piece of OURHOOD Home, you can do so on December 17th and 18th during their Christmas weekend, where you can grab one of their traditional divine wreaths with eucalyptus or dry herbs, this time in collaboration with Manghee Atelier.
Another item on offer is their textile stars – cushions in three colors, fabrics and sizes that are suitable not only for Christmas, but throughout the whole year, as well as their wooden boards, which are not just a functional classic, but also make for a unique gift. And after this festive euphoria, OURHOOD Home invites us to events aimed at our personal, creative and social growth, which will give us strength and inspiration to carry us through the gray months.
